51

.

Up to 50 points per cross-section may be entered on a group

of type 2 cards. Points may be altered as desired.

3) Card Type (3) specifies roughness data. For assignment of
roughness values, the channel is divided horizontally into three
sections. The lower horizontal dividing line is at elevation B

f~om the lowest streambed elevation. All parts of the channel

below elevation B are assigned a roughness of Nl. The upper

horizontal line is at elevation A from the lowest st~eam bed ele-

vation. All parts of the channel above elevation A are assigned
a roughness of N2. All points in between elevations A and B have

a roughness computed by a linear proportioning of roughnesses N2

and Nl. Card 3 data entry is as follows:
Columns 4-8: Nl (F5.3)
Columns 9-13: N2 (F5.3)
Columns 14-18: B (ft) (FS.l)
Columns 19-23: A (ft) (F5.1)
Column 71: QCHECK (indicates type 4 card follows)
Column 80: Card Type = 3
Roughness cards are needed only at the initial section and only
thereafter where roughness changes in value or in elevation above
the lowest point in the st~eam bed. Any nonzero number in
Column 71 indicates a stage-discharge card follows.
4) Card Type (4) specifies initial discharge-elevation conditions.
One card is provided for each discharge and its corresponding
starting elevation. A maximum of ten discharges may be included.
Card 4 data entry is as follows:

Columns 4-13: Discharge (cfs) (FlO.2)

.

-~

.

.

.
