r

I

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

~

The efforts of many individuals have contributed to the development

of program PR~FILE. The greatest impetus toward completion of the

program, however, has been provided by Dr. E. V. Richardson, the

writer's advisor and major professor. Dr. Richardson provided the

initial impetus for the program and continued to provide support and

.

counsel over a lengthy period of program development.

Doctors D. B. Simons, D. F. Heerman and R. W. Hayman of Colorado

State UniverSity, were very helpful in their encouragement and sugges-

tions. Mr. Alan F. Huggins, of Barton, Stoddard, Milhollin and Higgins,

Boise, Idaho, was most cooperative in providing data with which to

check the program and offered many useful suggestions for improving

,

the utility of the program's output. Mr. W. Burt made substantial

.

contributions in the area of computer programming. Many other persons

in the Civil Engineering Department at Colorado State University,

the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation freely

provided of their time and knowledge toward refinement of the program.

Special thanks are due to the Colorado taxpayers, who gave

financial support through the Colorado State University Experiment

Station.

No paper would ever be published were if not for the loyal and

untiring efforts of secretaries and typists. To the writer's wife,

.

Norma, to Mrs. Dorothy Rein, Dr. Richardson's secretary, and to

.

Mrs. Mary Fox, supervisory typist, go particular thanks for providing

timely help in publishing.

v
