<br />FPR 02-552 <br />Town of Granby <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 25, 2002 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />PREVIOUS FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been no previously designated floodplain studies for the Town of <br />Granby; and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION TO BE DESIGNATED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Insurance Administration completed a floodplain map entitled <br />"Flood Hazard Boundary Map, Town of Granby, Grand County, Colorado" dated August 15, 1975; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, through the engineering fIrm of <br />Montgomery Watson, completed a new report entitled "Floodplain Information Report, Town of <br />Granby, Colorado" dated March 2002 that includes technical revisions and provides additional <br />floodplain information to supplement said Flood Hazard Boundary Map dated August 15, 1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new Floodplain Information Report contains new approximate floodplain <br />information for several unnamed tributary streams within the Town of Gran by; and <br /> <br />LOCAL REOUEST FOR DESIGNATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a letter from the CWCB was transmitted to Town of Granby regarding the <br />CWCB's proposed action for designation and approval of said Floodplain Information Report dated <br />March 2002 and the Town was receptive to the CWCB's proposed action and provided verbal <br />endorsement of the proposed Board action during a community meeting held on March 19,2002; and <br /> <br />eR.s. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />
