<br />FPR 98-471 <br />Town ofKeenesburg <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERV A nON BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 SherJllan Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />September 21, 1998 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED FLOODPLAIN STUDIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been no previously designated floodplain studies for Special Flood <br />Hazard Areas within the Town of Keenesburg; and <br /> <br />STUDY TO BE DESIGNATED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Housinl? and Urban Development, Federal Insurance <br />Administration, completed a floodplain informatiiln map entitled "Flood Hazard Boundary Map, <br />Town of Keenesburg, Colorado (Weld County)" dllted September 19, 1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said map includes approximat:e floodplain delineations for specific geographic <br />areas within incorporated portions of the Keenesburg, as they were on September 19,1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Keenesburg was converted to the regular program of the National <br />Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on August 24, <br />1981 by letter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Man<1gement Agency (FEMA) determined that there <br />were no Special Flood Hazard Areas (NSFHA) within the Town of Keenesburg at the time of the <br />community's conversion to the regular program of the NFIP on August 24, 1981, and that this <br />action by FEMA essentially rescinded said floodpl<tin map dated September 19, 1975; and <br /> <br />C.R.S AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br /> <br />- <br />
