Each measure was to be rated on effectiveness with a poor, fair or
good response. A description or cost estimate was also provided by communities.

Multi-Obiective Use of Stream Corridors. The first question in this section asked the communities if multi-
objective projects have been used and ifso, have they been effective. A description is allowed if the multi-
objective project was not effective. A supporting inquiry was made to see if there was an interest in multi-
objective projects. A list of benefits was provided with space to give a description ofthe project, location
and cost estimate for each item. The lastlWo questions asked if there was a concern for preserving the loss
of agricultural lands and would there be interest in any other type of flood related project. Both have a
space for descriptions and the first may include a map.

Institutional Issues. This section starts off by determining what regulations the community has. Next was
an inquiry concerning the need for watershed based drainage master plans and if so, for what watersheds.
The third question is to determine if communities would think it beneficial to develop a statewide storm
drainage criteria manual. The next two explore community funding mechanisms; do they have one and
what would they prefer if a choice was given. Finally, what significant institutional barriers are there to
improving the community's management of stream corridors.

Organization Questionnaire
Oreanization Information. Essential information is contained in this section such as the organization's
name, address, zip, phone, fax, e-mail, and respondent's name and title.

Oreanization Profile. The mission statement or main purpose of the organization is asked along with the
primary activities. Both questions have descriptive response boxes.

Floodolain Manaeement. The first part of this section discusses: (1) significant floodplain problems
relating to stream corridors, (2) what is valued about stream corridors, and (3) what barriers stand in the
way of achieving goals for stream corridors. The next subsection is flood related issues which discusses
stream erosion and flood problems related to irrigation or water delivery facilities. A description may also
be included for each question. The last subsection is floodplain mapping needs with information on
floodplain mapping and what reaches may be unmapped or need to be revised.

Multi-Obiective Use of Stream Corridors. The use of multi-objective projects effectively is asked with a
follow-up question on the need to use these types of projects. If there is an interest in multi-objective
projects, a list of benefits is provided with space to give a description of the project for each.
