The 5tage or elevation ~t which overflow of the naturaL <br />ba"~s of ~ stream or body of water begi05 in the reach or area in <br />which the elevation i5 measured. <br /> <br />Interrnediate Regional Flood. A flood having an average frequency of <br />OCcurrence in the order of once in 100 years although the flood may <br />OCcur in any year. It is based on statistical anlllysesof stream- <br />flow records availahle for the watershed and analY5ea of rainfall <br />and runoff characteristics in the general region of the watershed. <br />Left or Right Bank. The bank on the lett or riqht side of a river, <br />stream, Or watercourse, looking downstream. <br />Natural floodway. The channel of a watercour5e and those portions <br />ot the adjoining flood plain which are reasonably required to carry <br />and discharge the floodwaters of a 5elected probability~of-occurrence <br />flood. <br />Stdn~drd Project Flood. The flood that may be e~pected from the ID05t <br />severe COmbination of meteorological and hydrological conditions <br />that is considc~ed reasonably charactoristic of the geographical area <br />illwhichthcdr"in",gcb"sini5Ioc..~d, ""cluding""tremelyrarp. <br />combin~tions.
