OUl!rtoppilllJ o{the Englewood Dam

The final goal of this study is to estimate the over-
l.upplnll of the PMF waters at tho ~rest of the em bank-
mcnts of Englewood dam.. ,To determine the effe~t of
the parameters STRTL arid CNSTL on the PMF at
F.ngJewood.Dam, HEel was.run for 110 pairs of
paramcterlvalues"STRTL values ranged from 0,0 to
2.0 inches ili'increments of 0,2 inch; CNS'fL values
ranged from' 0,02 to 0.20 inchlhour in increments of
0.02 inchlhour., '['he resulting maximum depth of flood
waters at the erest of the embankment is summarized
in Figure 9."Overtopping estimates ranged from a
hi gh of nearly: 11 feet abeve the .dam crest to Il. low of
2,3 fcet, below 'the' crest: .The horizontal shape of the
contours demonstrates that the PMF. is not sensitive'
to STR'fL, but'highly sensitive'to CNSTL, Overall,
each increaso' of, 0.01 inchlhour In CNSTL produced a
decrease of about 0.67,foot in the water level at Engle-
wooddam.;~I;,;;:,I...,,1'!."~<<" .', '. ',':'
While the ODN-R's lose 'parameters predict an ov~r-'
topping height of about,S feet,.. the design parameters'
of this study rcsult in an' overtopping of about 3 feet.
Figlll'e 9 shows that no overtopping of the dam would
OC~llr if CNS'fL ,were . !!Teater or equal to 0,15 "inch/
