In addition, notice of these changes will be published in the Federal Register. As required by the legislation, a community must adopt and enforce flood plain management measures in order to ensure continued eligibility to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program. Therefore, the City of Commerce City must enforce these regulations using the revised elevations in the special flood hazard areas, and other elevations as shown on the existing FIA Flood Insurance Rate Map. As mentioned above, the revised elevations will become effective on the date of this letter; however, within 90 days of the second publication in The Adams County Almanac which should appear within two weeks of this letter, a citizen may request the Federal Insurance Administrator to reconsider this determination. Any request for, reconsideration must be based on scientific or technical data. All interested parties a~e on notice that until the 90-day period elapses, the Administrator's deter- mination to modify elevations may itself be modified~ We encourage you to disse~inate widely throughout the community the information on the elevat~on changes in order that interested persons may offer new informatio~ or comments.
