Dear Mayor Williams:

It has been determined that modification of the elevations of the flood
having a one-percent chance of occurrence in any given year (base flood)
for certain locations in the City of Commerce City, Colorado, is appropriate.
This determination amends the Flood Insurance Rate Map. A revised rate
map will be published as soon as possible incorporating these changes.

The modification of base flood elevations has been made pursuant to
Section 206 of the Flood Disaste~ Protection Act of 1973 (P.L. 93-234)
and is in accordance with the NaCional Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as
amended, (Title XIII of the 20using and Urban Development Act of 1968,
P.L. 90-448) 42 U.S.C. 400l-~1281 and 24 CFR Part 1916.

The community number suffix code is 080006 OOOlB. This number and code
will be used by the National ?lood Insurers Association (NFIA) for all
flood insurance policies and cenewals issued for your community.

The changes in base flood elevations for the South Platte River are
referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (1929 Sea Level
Datum) as follows:
