<br />PREFACE <br /> <br />Representatives of several of the irrigation ditch companies ownlng <br />and operating water systems in the Ory Creek basin gilVS of their <br />time to meet and discuss the effects of their reservoirs and <br />canals on the hydrology of Dry Creek. The following companies <br />were included: <br /> <br />This study presents flood plain information for Dry Creek in Fort <br />Collins and Larimer County, Colorado, and includes a preliminary <br />design of drainage improvement facilities to eliminate or alleviate <br />flood hazards along this channel. This is a drainageway planning <br />study to be used by the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County <br />to guide flood plain development and design of drainage facilities <br />along Dry Creek. All proposed drainage improvements within the basin <br />should be checked for consistency with those facilities presented <br />herein, and will be subject to the approval of the City or County. <br />The hydrology used for design of all future facilities in this <br />study reach should be Obtained from this report. <br /> <br />Eaton Ditch Company <br />Water Supply and Storage Company <br />North poudre Irrigation Company <br /> <br />The information imparted at these meetings was valuable in evaluating <br />the hydrologic characteristics of Dry Creek. Our thanks and appreciation <br />are extended to these companies. <br /> <br />This study was authorized and jointly sponsored by the City of Fort <br />Collins, Larimer County and the Colorado Water Conservation Board. <br />The study was completed by Gingery Associates, Inc., Consulting <br />Engineers of Englewood, colorado under an agreement with the City <br />of Fort Collins dated April, 1979. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Flood plain information frequently changes with the construction of <br />new drainage facilities and other development within the flood plain. <br />This study was completed using channel and flood plain conditions that <br />existed during the period of May through November, 1979. Eefore <br />utilizing flood pl.::tir. ir.formatior. contained in thi!' repnrt, consult <br />with with City of Fort Collins or Larimer County for changes in <br />conditions that may have altered the flood plain presented here. <br /> <br />A Technical Committee was established for this project to review <br />the progress of the study and to provide technical input from the <br />sponsoring agencies.
