The project would require that lROO feet of over- <br />head electric and telephone line, 600 feet of 6-inch gas line and 2500 <br />feet of barbed-wire fence be relocated. <br /> <br />REAL ESTATE <br /> <br />About 151 acres of land are required for construction and opera- <br />tion of the project, of which 70 acres are for construction of the <br />levees and R9 acres arc for ponding areas and borrow material. In <br />addition, flowage eaaements on about 590 acres of land aubject to in- <br />duced flooding will be required. This area is sbown on Appendix I, <br />Plate 16. All lands to be obtained in fee or permanent easement for <br />the project would be acquired by the local sponsor of the project, the <br />Holly 'Flood Control, Drainage and Sanitation District. Estimated <br />value of lands to be acquired is contained in Appendix 3. <br /> <br />CONSTRVCTION PROGRA}! <br /> <br />From the time initial construction ,funds are made available, de- <br />velopmer.t of the proposed project would be as follows: <br /> <br />a. Seven months - preparation of detailed contract plans and <br />specifications. <br /> <br />b. 10 months -' acquisition of real estate and perform non- <br />Federal relocations. <br /> <br />c. 510 days - advertise and complete project construction. <br /> <br />OPERATIONS AND NAINTENA1'CE <br /> <br />Upon completion of construction, the project will be transferred <br />to the Holly Flood Control, Drainage and Sani tat ion Dis trict for <br />operation and maintenance to insure serviceability of the project. <br />An Operation and Maintenance Manual for the project would be provided <br />and annual inspection would be made by the Corps of Engineera to in- <br />sure proper maintenance of the project. Sediment surveillance cross <br />sections will be established as necessary to monitor sediment deposition <br />above constricted areas.
