Schedule

A grant from the State of Colorado has been made
available to Clear Creek County and the Town of
Georgetown to assist in the development of a Flood
Hazard Mitigation Plan (FHMP). The deadline for
completing work under the grant is September 30,
1998 and requires that a community approved
FHMP be submitted to the State by that date.
Information to be included in the FHMP requires
that a Flood Control Master Plan be prepared
beforehand. Given the amount of work to be
completed, meeting the September 30 deadline will
require an ambitious schedule. A list of project
milestones for completing this work in the required
time frame is presented below.

August 3 . Kickoff/Brainstorm Meeting with
Georgetown and Clear Creek County
Some portions of the FHMP will necessarily be the
responsibility of the Town of Georgetown and/or
Clear Creek County. The kickoff meeting will serve
to allocate responsibilities to the various parties and
discuss deadlines. Additionally, a brainstorming
session will be held to discuss the pros and cons of
flood mitigation concepts presented in this proposal
and to generate additional ideas.

August 18 . Meeting with CWCB and FEMA
On August 18, 1998 Mark Matulik of the Colorado
Water Conservation Board (CWCB) and a
representative of FEMA will meet with officials of
Georgetown, Clear Creek County and the selected
consultant to discuss progress and deadlines for the
FHMP. Material presenting flood hazard mitigation
alternatives will be prepared in time for that meeting
so that input from FEMA and the CWCB may be
obtained. Town and County comments on proposed
alternatives will also be solicited at that time.

September 1 . Draft Flood Control Master Plan
Completed
Results of the Flood Control Master Plan will be
required input to the FHMP. Based on input and
comments on proposed alternatives from agencies,
the Town of Georgetown and Clear Creek County,
a draft Flood Control Master Plan should be
completed by September 1 to permit time for
preparation of the FHMP and incorporation of the
results of the Master Plan.

September 15 . Draft FHMP Completed
The deadline for submission of a community
approved FHMP to the State is September 30. In
