This will
be accomplished through the following tasks, which
are referenced to the State's Model FHMP report
sections. We have prepared the Scope of Work in a
format which can be easily inserted into a standard
contract to expedite the contracting process.

Task 1 - Flood Hazard Inventory

The Consultant will assist County and Town staff
in assembling data on past flood events, and
generally characterizing the flooding problem. ryie
have already compiled much of this information,
some of which is included in the FEMA Flood
Insurance Study Report for Georgetown.)

Task 2 - Flood Hazard Areas

The Consultant will transfer 10-year and 100-year
flood boundaries and elevations or depths to the
Town's 1991 topographic base maps to identify flood
prone areas and structures. ryie have already
completed this task for the 100-year event.) Brief
written summaries will be prepared for Source of

Flooding, Depths of Flooding, Velocities, Warning
Time, and Repetitive Loss Areas.

Task 3 . Problem Assessment

The Consultant will prepare a systematic inventory
of flooded properties. This will include buildings,
critical facilities (e.g., emergency response offices,
hazardous material storage sites, key access roads
or bridges), natural resources (e.g., wetlands), and
future development areas. (We have already
completed a count of structures in the flood prone
area (85)). The Consultant will prepare a succinct
statement of the flood problem in Georgetown
documenting all problem areas and causes of
flooding.

Task 4 - Proposed Mitigation
Activities/Master Plan

4.1

The Consultant will conduct a half-day
workshop session with County and Town
staff, and other interested parties as identified
by the local staffs, to review flooding problems
and sources, and to identify and discuss
potential flood mitigation concepts. ryie have
already identified and discussed six possible

((II) MONTGOMERY WATSON . 3-1
