<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(I)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, dilects the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies oflocal jUlisdictions; and <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH CWCB TECHNICAL STANDARDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Flood InsUlance Study dated June 6, 2001 revises the previous version of the <br />Town of Silver Plume Flood InsUlance Study dated July 1978 to incorporate detailed flood hazard <br />information for Clear Creek for the entile stream reach within the CUlrent corporate limits of the Town; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CWCB staff is aware of a need to revise the hydraulic model for Clear Creek <br />based on new bridge geometry for a local street bridge within the Town of Silver Plume and will <br />support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, in that effort and will coordinate with the <br />Town to accomplish the needed revision; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information for Clear Creek in said new Floodplain <br />Information Report with included map, meets all of the requilements listed under the Board's "Rules and <br />Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff <br />Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1) for detailed floodplain information; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Town of Silver Plume should continue to regulate new development and <br />construction in floodplain areas on a case-by-case basis based on the information presented in said new <br />Flood InsUlance Study, or based on the best available floodplain information that is accessible to the <br />County; and <br /> <br />DESIGNATION AND APPROVAL ACTION <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Cortez, Colorado, this 24th day of September 2001, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as detailed floodplain information the 100-year floodplain delineations for Clear <br />Creek within the Town of Silver Plume contained in said new Flood InsUlance Study dated June 6, <br />2001, with included Flood InsUlance Rate Map; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board that it does hereby <br />rescind the previously designated Flood InsUlance Study for the Town of Silver Plume dated July 1978 <br />(CWCB Resolution Number 363); and <br /> <br />BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board is dilected to send a certified <br />copy of this resolution to Town of Silver Plume and the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />Region 8. <br /> <br />2 <br />
