<br />FPR 01-553 <br />Silver Plume <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />September 24, 2001 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />PREVIOUS FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain study has been designated by the CWCB for the Town of Silver <br />Plume entitled "Flood InsUlance Study, Town of Silver Plume, Clear Creek County, Colorado", <br />dated July 1978 (CWCB Resolution Number 363); and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION TO BE DESIGNATED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency completed a new report entitled <br />"Flood InsUlance Study, Town of Silver Plume, Clear Creek County, Colorado" dated June 6, 2001 <br />that also includes a Flood InsUlance Rate Map of the same date; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new Flood InsUlance Study, with included map, contains detailed <br />floodplain information for Clear Creek; and <br /> <br />LOCAL REOUEST FOR DESIGNATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a letter from the CWCB dated August 17, 2001 was transmitted to the Town of <br />Silver Plume regarding the CWCB's proposed action for designation and approval of said Flood <br />InsUlance Study dated June 6, 2001, and the community was receptive to the CWCB's proposed action <br />and provided a letter dated October 8, 2001 requesting Board action; and <br /> <br />eR.s. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(I)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requiles the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jUlisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br />
