RESOLUTION

PREVIOUS FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION

WHEREAS, a floodplain study has been designated by the CWCB for the Town of Silver
Plume entitled "Flood InsUlance Study, Town of Silver Plume, Clear Creek County, Colorado",
dated July 1978 (CWCB Resolution Number 363); and

FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION TO BE DESIGNATED

WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency completed a new report entitled
"Flood InsUlance Study, Town of Silver Plume, Clear Creek County, Colorado" dated June 6, 2001
that also includes a Flood InsUlance Rate Map of the same date; and

WHEREAS, said new Flood InsUlance Study, with included map, contains detailed
floodplain information for Clear Creek; and

LOCAL REOUEST FOR DESIGNATION

WHEREAS, a letter from the CWCB dated August 17, 2001 was transmitted to the Town of
Silver Plume regarding the CWCB's proposed action for designation and approval of said Flood
InsUlance Study dated June 6, 2001, and the community was receptive to the CWCB's proposed action
and provided a letter dated October 8, 2001 requesting Board action; and

eR.s. AUTHORITY

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(I)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requiles the Colorado Water
Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that
legislative bodies of local jUlisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board; and
