The floodplain submitted with this report WqS produced using
the most widely accept"d state of the art mcxlels, FlOodplain
delineation in small, urbanized drainaqe basins such as the
West Vine Drainage Basin is a relatively recent requirement
of urban drainage studies. The following paragraphs deal
with the data collection, computation, assumptions and judge-
ments made during the hydraulic stage of this study.
In this study the major oomputational tool for determining
the flood profile was the HEC-2 computer program developed by
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers~4)&(5) This program was
released by the Corps in 1976 and has been updated frequently.
The specific copy used by Engineering Professionills, Inc.
is the binary file of HEC-2 on cilll at the Colorado St~tc
University Computer Center. All cross sections and job control
ddt~ were stored on tape at the Computer Center and submitted
to run on the C.S.U. gold machine, Cyber 1600, via terminal
operiltions. All jobs were printed at the CO'T!1Puter Center.
