BOX 1458

"
L:
~ April 29, 1977
~.

Mr. George Patenode
Omaha District
U.S. Army Corps qf Engineers
U.S. Federal Building & Post Office
Omaha, Nebraska ' 68108

Dear Mr. Patenod~:

The fOllowing are my comments relative to the April
1977 Draft Plan of Study for the "Companion Flood Plain
Information Study of the Cache La poudre River Basin, Larimer,
and Weld Counties, Coloradall.

."A. Table 4, page 14, gives population totals for Larimer
County under the title "Population In Selected
Areas WLthin The Cache La poudre River Basin". I
believe this is somewhat misleading since not all of
Larimer County's population lives within the Cache
La Poudr-e River Basin.

B. In work element K, Task K-l should also include an
identification of all privately owned land that has
the potential for residential or oth~r non-recrea-
tional use. Work element K should also take into
account 'Larimer County's on-going flood hazard mapping
effort in the immediate vicinity of poudre Park (See
Feb. 16, 1977, letter by Rex Burns, attached).

C. It is hoped that the various reports that are to be
generat~d will be written and presented in a fashion
that will facilitate their actual use by local gov-
ernment in drafting necessary pOlicies, plans, regu-
lations, or standards.

D. Work Element I should make use of County generated
land us~ inventory data.

.
