<br />FLOOD RELATED INFORMATION NEEDS <br /> <br />;. <br />, <br />~': <br /> <br />The primary objective of the efforts involved in developing <br />this. Plan of St~dy was to determine what specific information not <br />currently availl!-ble is most needed by local officials to deal <br />~ffectively witq current and fUture flood problems. In attempting <br />to achieve this objective, the following sequence of tasks was <br />performed: <br /> <br />(1) Gollect and review all flood-related information <br />available by contacting all known information sources. <br /> <br />(2) Inventory analytical methods available. <br /> <br />(3) Present study objectives to State and local planners, <br />engineers, and elected officials and elicit their views about future <br />flood problems and information needs. <br /> <br />(4) Define major flood problems and information needs. <br /> <br />(5) Prepare preliminary Plan of Study for satisying <br />information needs. <br /> <br />(6) present preliminary Plan of Study to State and local <br />planners, engineers, and elected officials and elicit a more exact- <br />ing and descriptive statement of their flood-related problems and <br />information needs. <br /> <br />(7) Develop final draft of the Plan of Study. <br /> <br />20 <br />
