The 1904 flood produced .stages somewhat higher than those of the 1891 flood. On the basis of subsequent studies by the U. S. Geological Survey of flood drift deposits, it has been estimated that the 1904 flood discharge may have been as great. as 57,000 c.f.s., but this appears somewhat doubtful in view of the estimates of flood damages made at the time of this flood. 10
