<br />WHEREAS, the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated <br />Pitkin County describes and outlines the floodplain data and <br />information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins for streams within unincorporated Pitkin County in a <br />manner that is consistent with the Flood Insurance Study for the <br />City of Aspen, dated December 4, 1985, the Flood Insurance Study <br />for the Town of Basalt, dated June 4, 1987, and that portion of <br />the Flood Insurance Study for Pitkin County and Incorporated <br />Areas, dated June 4, 1987, pertaining to the Town of Snowmass <br />Village; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County <br />has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />new Flood Insurance Study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes. provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />juriSdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board: and <br /> <br />) WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised Statutes. <br />directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />juriSdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said revised <br />information and data and does hereby recommend to the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and ,approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas inundated by al00-year flood <br />(intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater <br />surface elevations and profiles in said new Flood Insurance <br />Study as they apply to stream reaches within unincorporated <br />Pi tkin County, and further recommends that certa in previous ly <br />approved floodplain designations or specific portions thereof. <br />as set forth in said Table 2, be rescinded; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, <br />Colorado, this 15th day of May, 1987, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas delineated <br />as being inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the <br />floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said Flood <br />Insurance Study for unincorporated Pitkin County that were <br />listed in Tables 1, 2, and 3, dated June 4. 1987. and does <br /> <br />-3~ <br />
