F. Wetlands:

The proposed project will have little or no effect on approximately
two acres (.8 ha) of Type 3 Wetland (Fish and Wildl ife Circular 39)
located on irrigated pastureland near the proposed floodway enlarge-
ment at the east edge of Hayden.

Wetland vegetation (less than 1 acre or .4 ha) in the bottom of the
existing floodway will be disrupted by the construction operations.
It is anticipated that the cattails and other grass-like wetland
vegetation will gradually reestablish themselves in the new flood-
way,once construction activities are completed.

G. Archeological and Historical Resources:

There are no known archeological or historical sites listed in the
National Register of Historic Places (Federal Register, February
10, 1976, Vol. 41, No. 28) and monthly supplements that wi 11 be
affected by the project measures.

Although there are no known or identified archeological or historical
sites in the proposed construction area, if evidence is found or
presented during construction that any materials exist or may be
pr~;~,ic, the National Park Service and other concerned institutions
will be requested by the State Conservationist to appraise the
material significance of the find.

H. Appearance of the Landscape:

The visual quality of the construction areas will be impaired
during construction activities.

Enlargement of the existing floodway will further emphasize the
visual appearance of this flood prevention measure on the landscape.

I. Insect Control:

Installation of the proposed project will significantly reduce- the
amount of mosquito-producing habitat within the Town of Hayden.
Installation of the proposed project may also enable the Town of
Hayden to install adequate drainage measures, which would further
eliminate temporary pools of water which serve as mosquito production
areas.

J. Other Environmental Effects:

During construction activities the noise level in the vicinity of
the construction areas will be temporarily increased. Following
construction, the noise level will return to preconstruction levels.

(,-7
