<br />The R-1 school bus personnel and L'1e bus drivers for the routes through Bu'falo Cree~ and will be <br />advised of the waming by their dispatchers, If the bus drivers feel it is safe. they will CoOP the <br />students off as normal. If the bus driver determines it is unsafe to drop the students a1 their normal <br />bus stops, or the roads are closed by emergency personnel; the students in tM Buffalo CreeK and <br />areas south along County Roads 126 & 67 will be dropped off at Green's Store, 17706 County Road <br />96 for those childem whose parents have pre-arranged with school officials to do so, Parents will be <br />called and advised that the students are being held at the store until it is ,safe to bring them home, <br />The Green's have agreed to let the students remain at the store and will ma~e the calis to parents, If <br />it appears the danger will pass quicl<;ty and the buses will be able to continUe on their routes, the <br />buses will remain at Green's Store with the students, A list of people with four wheel drive vehicles <br />authorized to take the children home will be established in the event the buses are released and <br />students held at Green's Store <br /> <br />If it is determined that it is not safe for the Dome Rock bus to continue dowr. stream. the children will <br />be taken to the Mountain Area Transportation Center (MATC), 7000 Hwy. 73, or other predetermined <br />location agreed to by R-1 Schools and the parents of the students. Jefferson County School <br />personnel will contact the students' parents and make new arrangements for getting the students <br />home. <br /> <br />III: IF THERE ARE REPORTS OF WATER RISING <br /> <br />If there are reports of water rising emergency personnel (i.e., North Fork VolJnteer Fire Department, <br />Sheriff's Department, State Patrol, etc.) will check the area to attempt to confirm that there is a <br />danger from rising water. <br /> <br />If a flash flood waming has not been issued, and it can be confirmed by emergency personnel or <br />other creditable sources that water is rising in the flood zone, the emergency phone tree will be <br />activated. <br /> <br />If it is confirmed that water is rising, the North Fork Volunteer Fire Department, in coordination witt, <br />the Sheriff's Department, will close County Road 126 at Spring Creek Rd am at County Road 96 <br />(The River Road), the River Road at Foxlon Road, and clear the North Fork of the South Platte <br />River. <br /> <br />Emergency personnel (Le.. North Fork Volunteer Fire Department, Sheriff's i)epartmerrt, State <br />Patrol, etc.) will warn and/or evacuate people from the town of Buffalo Cree~, <br /> <br />IV: BUS DRIVERS <br /> <br />If at any time the bus driver feels it is too dangerous to let his passengers of at a bus stop; he wit' not <br />allow the child off, and follow the protocol outlined in paragraph II above, <br /> <br />Prepared by: <br /> <br />Buffalo CreeK Crisis Committee <br />
