Lamm has advised that <br />rebuilding Highway 34 will cost <br />in excess of $10 million. <br />He also tendered the op- <br />timistic estimate that the work <br /> <br />can be completed by next <br />spring. <br />Highway Department crews <br />are already reviewing the <br />original construction plans for <br />the scenic route through the <br />canyon. <br />J<~or some, rebuilding will be <br />much more costly. not <br />necessarily in terms of dollars, <br />and will take much longer. <br />A look at the Big Thompson <br />Canyon and Glen Haven area <br />reveals what has been. <br />For the survi vors-the <br />"lucky" ones- the next weeks, <br />months and years will be a <br />process of determining what <br />will be. <br /> <br />ABOVE:ln an outpouring of <br />generosity. food, clothing and <br />other supplies arrived to help <br />relieve the suffering. <br />FAR LEFT: Estes Park was a <br />haven for the stranded and <br />homeless.
