LILE, P,E, <br />D1REcroR <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Peter <br />Bill <br />Chris <br />Randy <br /> <br />Ray <br />Brian <br />Jeff <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Barbara <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />December 8, 1993 <br /> <br />SUBJECf: <br /> <br />CWCB Imaging Needs - To Peter by Friday December 10, Noon <br /> <br />The CWCB is mandated to promote the development and conservation of the waters <br />of the state, to protect the state's water rights and interests in interstate waters, and to secure <br />the greatest utilization of such waters and the utmost prevention of floods, Under this <br />mandate, the CWCB serves as the state's principal water planning agency, <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Since the CWCB's creation in 1937 it has collected approximated 6,000 books and <br />publications and 200 file drawers of correspondence and letter reports on water, This does <br />not include the materials which have previously been placed in State Archives, <br />These documents have historical significance and are often extremely valuable when <br />interpreting the intent of language in Colorado's various river compacts, It is important for <br />the CWCB to be able to cross reference materials by subjects and locations (drainage basins), <br /> <br />The documents range in size from small pamphlets to 24" X 36" maps or larger in a <br />few cases, Much of the material is original paper and does not exist in nay other format. <br />~ <br /> <br />The CWCB will utilize the same UNIX based Silcon Graphic Workstations with <br />INFORIX as DWR uses, <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />access by CWCB staff - 2 workstations <br />access by public - 1 workstation <br /> <br />bjneeds.mtg <br /> <br />o <br />
