<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RADIOLOGICAL DEFENSE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT (RDP&D) <br />PART A <br /> <br />In FFY89 the Radiological Defense Planning and Development (RDP&D) <br />Program was re-examined through updating a five (5) year State <br />Radiological Management Plan. With the publication of CPG 2-1, <br />Radiological Defense Preparedness. the RDP&D Program placed <br />increased emphasis upon nuclear attack preparedness by <br />establishment of minimum standards for. implementation by counties <br />and their municipalities. <br /> <br />The FFY90 program resources will be used to continue to assist the <br />state and local jurisdictions to develop, implement and maintain <br />RADEF capabi 1 it i es for nuc 1 ear attack preparedness; and where <br />appropriate to peacetime radiation hazards. To accomplish this <br />task; emphasis in this year's program will be directed toward <br />updating the State RADEF Management Plan, maintaining the RADEF <br />Data Base for the state and local jurisdictions, and assisting <br />local jurisdictions in updating the Radiological Defense Annex to <br />their local emergency operations plan. <br /> <br />Additional activity will include support in planning and conducting <br />of test exercises involving RADEF problems/contingencies, training <br />support to RRT and RO courses, attendance of the required <br />Professional Development Series Training Courses, and presentation <br />of RDP&D information and pOlicy guideline at state seminars, <br />conferences. The management plan for these activities is <br />developed/updated consistent with federal gui~e1ines. <br /> <br />:;: <br />
