The Division of Disaster Emergency Services (DODES) is <br />responsible under Colorado law for four basic functions: <br /> <br />1. To prepare and maintain plans for State government to <br />meet tJle threats to life and property from natural <br />hazards, technological hazards, or from hostile military <br />or paramilitary actions <br /> <br />2. The val~e of this approach has been <br />demonstrated repeatedly in the development of local emergenCj <br />operations plans; conduct of tabletop, functional and fie-td <br />exercises; and management of multiple declared dlsaster <br />emargenCleS and scores of lesser emergencies. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />Colorado proposes to continue program activity of FY-1989 at <br />the same level of effort in FY-1990. The State will integrate <br />and coordinate its emergency management activities with those <br />of the Federal Government to ensure that the full range of <br />capabilities are utilized as appropriate under both routine <br />and emergency conditions. DODES will maintain its readiness <br />to provide leadership and Emergency Operations Center support <br />to the State Response Team when major emergenci es occu r. <br />Based on past experi ence. six or more such events can be <br />expected to occur. <br />
