Areas which

had negligible "effective conveyance" are shO\~n on the drawings

as flooded, but are modeled to be ineffective in carrying the

flow.

l7

The Major Drainageway Plan presented in this report consists

essentially of planned facilities to eliminate or greatly

reduce flood hazards, damage to properties, or inconvenience

to residents and motorists.

The lOO-year flood will result in inundation, inconvenience and

damage in some reaches, even after the planned facilities are

constructed. However, this event would be extremely rare, and

minor flood flows would be largely unnoticed in the basin.

The proposed plan complies with the directives of the UDFCD, the
City of Lakewood, and the City and County of Denver.

A detailed, technical appendix of hydraulic calculations is
available at the office of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control
District.
