No. 176 v' COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 September 23, 1981 RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, A floodplain informa'tion report entitled "Flood Plain Informat ion, Cache la Poudre River, Hewlett Gulch" Hill Gulch, Falls Gulch, IVatha Gulch, and Unnamed Gulch," dated May, 1981, has been prepared by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, at the request of'Larimer County; and WHEREAS, said report describes and outlInes the floodplain data and Information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of the study area; and WHEREAS, Larimer County has requested Conservat Ion Board to designate arid approye as set forth in the aforesaid report; and the Colorado the floodplain Water areas WHEREAS, 1973, requires the prevention Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes the Color ado W'at er Conser vat ion Board to aSS I st in of floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of' local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Sect Ion 37-60-106( 1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such desig'nations ava Hable to leg islat ive bodies of local jurisdictions; and W,HEREAS, the staff of the Board ha.s reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report;
