<br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District,
<br />at the request of the Colorado Water Conservation Roard and the
<br />Inter-County Regional Planning Commission, completed in October,
<br />1963; Floodplain Information, Metropolitan Region, Denver,
<br />Colorado; Volume, I, Summary Report, South Platte River, Waterton
<br />to Brighton, Colorado; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Roard, as requested
<br />by the Inter-County Regional Planning Commission, by'resolution
<br />No.1, adopted December 13,1967, approved and designated the
<br />floodplains described in said report; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Roard, as rquested
<br />by the Urban Drainage and Flood Control Oistrict, by Resolutin
<br />No. 84, adopted November 15,' 1977, approved and designated the
<br />floodplains from Franklin Street to Sand Creek on the South
<br />Platte River; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, a new. report entitled "Flood Hazard Delineation,
<br />South Platte River, Denver Metropolitan Area, Sand Creek to
<br />Oxford Avenue," which includes floodplain, information and data
<br />for the South Platte River, dated September, 1985, has been
<br />prepared by Wright Wa~er EngineeCs, Inc., under contract with the
<br />Urban Drainage and Flood Control District; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said new report describes and
<br />floodplain data and information for the storm
<br />runoff channels or basins of the study area; and
<br />
<br />outlines the
<br />and floodwater
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the
<br />Drainage and Flood
<br />Water Conservation
<br />areas as set forth
<br />
<br />City and County of Denver and the Urban
<br />Control District have requested the Colorado
<br />Board to designate and approve the floodolain
<br />in the aforesaid new report; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes,
<br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Roard to, assist in the
<br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Sec~ions 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, rOlora-d:o Revised
<br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic-
<br />tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along
<br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or ba~in' only after
<br />designation and approval by the ColoradO Water Conservation
<br />Board; and
