.

PERV - Pervious. The estimated percentage of the area of the
basin considered to be pervious land, or land which allows some
runoff to infiltrate into the soil. (See Urban St.orm Drainage
Criteria Manual.)

Basin Descriptions

As explained in t.he previous section describing the drainage
basin mapping effort, drainage subbasins having tributary areas
ranging from 1000 to 3000 acres are identified and assigned an
index number. For each such basin, physical and hydrologic data
have been compiled, along with all current and relative data applying
to land use, population, jurisdiction, flood damage potential and ot.her
significant informat.ion. A Subbasin Description Summary Sheet has been
prepared for each subbasin with the following information:

(1) Major Basin - The major drainageway or direct flow basin to
the South Platte River corresponding to the four digit number
identifying the subbasin, is given to facilitate organization of the
information by major drainageways.

.

(2) Subbasin Number - This is the
subbasin described on the data sheet.
is described in detail in a preceding

identification number for the
The subbasin numbering system
section.

(3) Date Prepared, Revisions - The date prepared has been placed
on all summary sheets. As additional information is added or
revisions are made to the baseline situat.ion, the date of revision
can be inserted.

(4) Tributary Basin - This identifies the tributary drainageway
to the major basin and is furnished only when the tributary has an
established recognized name. When the tributary is unnamed, this
space is left blank.

(5) Mapping Number/Name - The number and name of all quadrangle
sheets upon which the subbasin appears is ident.ified here. Where the
subbasin appears on more than one quadrangle sheet, the one given first
is the one containing the physical and hydrologic data for the subbasin.

(6) City/County - The city and county in which the basin is located.
Where the basin is included in more than one jurisdiction, each is
identified.

.

(7) Physical Features - The area in square miles, channel length
and length to centroid of basin in miles, t.he unit hydrograph
coefficients, CT and CP, percentage of pervious area and channel slope
are listed in the indicat.ed spaces. These parameters are described
in detail in a preceding section.

9
