FPR 96-412 COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 721 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 March 13, 1996 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency completed a floodplain information map entitled "Flood Hazard BoundllI'y Map, Town of Walsh, Colorado, Baca County", dated June 28, 1974; and WHEREAS, said map includes approxiInate floodplain delineations for Unnamed Tributary to Sand Arroyo within the corporate limits of the Town of Walsh as of June 28,1974 but does not include hydrology information for Ulmamed Tributary to Sand Arroyo; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board has not designated and approved said map; and WHEREAS, a new floodplain information report entitled "Floodplain Information Report, Town of Walsh, Colorado, Baca County", dated February 8, 1996 has been prepared by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, said new report for the TOWll of Walsh includes approximate floodplain information for Unnamed Tributary to Sand Arroyo within the corporate limits of the Town of Walsh as of June 28, 1974; and WHEREAS, said new report incorporates the floodplain delineations of the Flood Hazard Boundary Map dated June 28, 1974; and WHEREAS, the drainage basin for that portion of Unnamed Tributary to Sand Arroyo is less than the lower limit, 25 square miles, for Arkansas River Basin Subregion Ark-I, as set forth in the Guidelines for Determining 100- Year Flood Flows for Approximate Floodplains; and WHEREAS, the use of the U.S. Geological Survey publication, Techniques For Estimating Regional Flood Characteristics of Small Rural Watersheds in the Plains Region of Eastern Colorado, for stream reaches with drainage basins less than 25 square miles but greater than one-half (0.5) square mile for Arkansas River Basin Subregion Ark-I, was endorsed by the Guidelines for Determining 100- Year Flood Flows for Approximate Floodplains; and
