~

-"',
;

2

have decreased compared to the BFEs shown on the effective FIRM and on the Flood Profiles in the
effective FIS report. The maximum decrease in BFE, 0.2 feet, occurs approximately 1,400 feet upstream
of the confluence of Bear Creek Tributary Number 6. Due to the limitations of the scale of the Flood
Profiles, Flood Profile Panel 02P cannot be revised to reflect the decrease in BFE. The width of the
Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) has decreased compared to the width of the SFHA shown on the
effective FIRM. The maximum decrease in width, approximately 150 feet, occurs approximately 1,250
feet upstream of the confluence of Bear Creek Tributary Number 6.

The BFEs along Bear Creek Tributary Number 6 have both increased and decreased compared to the BFEs
shown on the effective FIRM and on the Flood Profiles in the effective FIS report. The maximum increase
in BFE, 1.9 feet, occurs approximately 150 feet downstream of Morrison Road. The maximum decrease
in BFE, 1.6 feet, occurs just upstream of Morrison Road. No insurable structures are impacted by the
increase in BFEs. The width of the SFHA has decreased compared to the width of the SFHA shown on
the effective FIRM. The maximum decrease in SFHA width, approximately 100 feet, occurs just
downstream of Morrison Road. The FIRM has also been revised to indicate that the berm along the west
bank of Bear Creek Tributary Number 6 downstream of Morrison Road provides protection against the
base flood. ' '

The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panel 0290 B and Profile
Panel 53P. This LOMR hereby revises this panel of the effective FIRM dated August 5, 1986, and the
Flood Profile in the FIS report dated July 4, 1989.

The following table is a partial listing of existing and modified BFEs along Bear Creek Tributary
Number 6:

Location

Existing BFE
(feet)*

Modified BFE
(feet)*

Approximately 450 feet downstream of Morrison Road
Approximately 150 feet downstream of Morrison Road
Just upstream of Morrison Road
Approximately 350 upstream of Morrison Road

5472
5480
5487
5490

5472
5482
5486
5490

*Referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum, rounded to the nearest whole foot

Public notification of the revised BFEs will be given in the Golden Transcript on or about April 19 and
April 26, 1996.
