Dear Mr. Lang;

In accordance with Section 37-60-106(11)(c) C.R.S., as amended, the City of Cripple Creek,
Colorado, is requesting that the Colorado Water Conservation Board consider the designation
and approval ofrevised flood hazard areas within the incorporated portions of the city. The City
requests the revised flood hazard area be as depicted in the Flood Plain Management Study for
Cripple Creek prepared by the SCS in 1992, with certain modifications to be defined after
consultation with your office. The also requests that the Board consider the rescission of flood
hazard area within the incorporated portions of Cripple Creek, as on the Flood Insurance Study
for Teller County and Incorporated Areas.

The Flood Plain Management Study contains detailed floodplain information for the following
streams:

Cripple Creek, East Branch Cripple Creek, West Branch Cripple Creek;
UlUla.lned West Barl,1.:: Tributary to Cripple Creek;
Main Street Tributary to Cripple Creek;
Poverty Gulch, South Branch Poverty Gulch;
2nd Street Tributary to Cripple Creek, Courthouse Tributary to 2nd Street Tributary,
May A venue Tributary to 2nd Street Tributary;
Thurlow Avenue Tributary to Cripple Creek;
Pony Gulch, West Branch Pony Gulch;
Unnamed WestBank Tributary to Pony Gulch.

The Flood Insurance Study contains approximate floodplain information for Cripple Creek,
Poverty Gulch and Pony Gulch within the city limits of Cripple Creek. The City of Cripple
Creek believes that the approximate information contained in the Flood Insurance Study is
inconsistent with the detailed information contained in the Flood Plain Management Study and is
