.

.

2. Rescue Compatibility. Relatively easy for rescue operations due to the
location of the slots along the bank of the river, in full view.

3. Cost and East of Construction. The dam itself is low cost. No boating
facilities have been constructed.

4. Appearance. The dam is unsightly due to its linear configuration
across the river, and the rubble and concrete chunks stacked in the
river. Especially ugly when trash and debris has been trapped against
the rubble.

S. Operation and Maintenance. Debris is always trapped against the rock
rubble, regular periodic cleaning. The ungrouted rock is gradually
washed downstream by the river action.

6. Stability. The concrete wall is stable, but the rock rubble is not.
the water shifts it around during high flow requiring periodic main-
tenance. The rock is not large enough and not grouted to be adequately
stable.

Other
Fish migration is difficult, but possible.

No portage trails, landings or signage.

A drop-pool sequence with deflector is needed.

FLORIDA AVENUE DAM
Rubble dam at Florida Avenue.
Physical characteristics:

Approximately 6' drop.

Pi R.'.\f.'~l' ,r<" ",..'.:.
