Section 1n04(f), as amended April, 19R?, states: <br /> <br />(f) Plumbing Fittings. Effective December 22, 197fl, the <br />maximum flow rate of all new shower-heads, lavatory <br />faucets, and sink faucets shall not exceed the vaJ,ues <br />spec ifi_ed in the standard approved by the American <br />N~tiona'_ Standards Institute on November 16, 1979, <br />and known as ANSI A112.18.1~~1979. <br /> <br />This ANSI standard, entitled "Finished and Rough Brass Plumbing Fixture <br />Fittings", states th<'lt flow from lavatory faucets, sink faucets, and <br />showerheads is not to exceed 2.75 gallons per minute at water pressures up to <br />80 pounds per square inch. <br /> <br />Section 1606(b) of the appliance efficiency standards prohibits the sale of <br />fixtures that do not comply with the regulations: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(b) No new appliance descri.bed in... these regulations... <br />shall be sold or offered for sale in California, which <br />is not ~ertified by its manufacturer to be in compliance <br />with the provisions of this article. <br />
