<br />FPR 233 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />July 13, 1984 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has <br />previously completed a "Flood Irtsurance Study for the Arkansas <br />Ri ver in Fremont County, Canon Ci ty and Florence, Colorado," <br />dated December, 1981; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new. report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City <br />of Florence, Colorado," which includes floodplain information and <br />data for Coal Creek, Oak Creek,. Coal Creek East Overf low, and <br />Coal Creek West Overflow, dated June 4( 1984, has been prepared <br />by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., under contract with the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency: and <br /> <br />\ WHEREAS, said report describ@s and outlines the floodplain <br />-,. data and information for the storrll and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Florence has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesa~d report: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />requires the <br />prevention of <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106( 1), Colorado Revised Statutes; <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />128 <br />res/233 <br /> <br />A <br />
