The conununi ty is required, as a <br />conCition of continued eligibility in the National Plood Insurance <br />Pr09'aJn (NFIP) , to adopt or show evidence of adoption of flood plain <br />management regulations that meet the standards of Section 60.3 (d) <br />(former:y 1910.3 (d)) of the enclosed Program regulations (44 CPR 59, <br />etc.) w:.tbin six months of the date of this letter. These standards are <br />eoe m:.n:.m= requireme~.ts and do not supersede any state or local require- <br />men-:.s 0= a !:lore string'ent nature. <br /> <br />T~e Standards of Section 60.3 (d) which your community is required to <br />mee~ are explained in brief on the attachment accompanying this letter. <br />It =ust be emphasized that all of the standards specified in this <br />sec~on of the program regulations must be enacted in a legally enforce- <br />~le cocusent. Some of these standards should already have been enacted <br />b? TO~ co~tL~ity in order to establish initial eligibility in the <br />Nat:.or",,: Flood Insurance Program. Therefore, compliance by your cOlmlunity <br />w~tt the additional flood plain management requirements may be accomplished <br />in a nucber of ways.
