Bearden, P.E.

it.

ABSTRACT

,

A Canadian County rural road is raised 18 feet to provide floodwater control for a major collector
route downstream and to provide ingress and egress for approximately 65 households in a
3-county area. The project was funded utilizing the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and
Canadian County personnel and equipment. Design and construction inspection was provided by
a local engineer as part of the local participation requirement. Local landowners provided utility
relocation and borrow material. The project was designed to provid,e ingress and egress during
the 100-year storm event, not available prior to construction, and provides additional floodwater
protection to a major collector roadway approximately 2 miles downstream.

f
L

Cecil R.
