A downed power pole, a garage fire, a man who <br />fell off his roof and reports of debris on several roadways also added to the problems, An <br />average of I 'h inches ofrain fell in various parts of the city and brought winds that reached 40 <br />mph at the Pueblo Memorial Airport, By 6:05 p.m., the severe thunderstorm warning had been <br />cancelled in Pueblo as the fast moving storm made its way into the eastern part of the state. An <br />hour later, the sun was shining as recover efforts continued in the area. <br /> <br />Thirteen Colorado counties ultimately received federal disaster declaration status following the <br />initial August 1, 1997 declaration due to severe flooding conditions across many parts of the <br />state. The disaster declaration made it possible for all Colorado counties and their associated <br />municipalities to be eligible to receive Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding <br />assistance. <br /> <br />Obiective <br />The Project objective is to develop a flood hazard mitigation feasibility study and prepare <br />portions of a final report to assist the local government of Pueblo with the preparation of a full <br />application for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). The completed application, with <br />included technical information, must satisfy all of the FEMA requirements in order for the <br />community to be eligible to receive federal grant money for project implementation. <br /> <br />Proiect Assilmments <br />Study tasks will be divided among the Project partICipants as stated in the "summary of <br />requested work" section of this Scope of Work, The attached "Report Outline" will be the basis <br />for performing the required work and completing the final Project report.
