First of all, you questioned
the fact that the basin boundary shown in the hydrology
memorandum prepared on February 28, 1977, does not coincide
with those shown on the Project Reuse maps. We have made a
thorough field investigation of this area and have found that
the portion of the drainage basin located north of l30th Avenue
is presently not tributary to the study reach. At the present
time, an embankment exists along the north side of Lee Lateral
which will not allow any of the flow from the area north of
l30th Avenue to follow its natural path. There is also a
small development which backs-up along the south side of the
Lee Laterial Irrigation Ditch. At present, no provisions
have been made to allow the drainage from the area north of
l30th Avenue to flow through this development or follow the
natural drainage course. A contact was made with the City
Engineer of Thornton, who informed us there were no planned
drainage facilities.

Under present conditions, the drainage from the area north of
130th Avenue will eventually drain to the south near the
intersection of l30th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard and enter
Brantner Gulch immediately downstream from the flood insurance
study reach. We therefore, feel that our stUdy reflects present
day runoff conditions.

CIVil FNGINHRINr,,.' I MJf1 C;IIRVFYING I sr0RM nRAINAGF I ~TRllnIlRAL I TRANSPORTATION I WAHR P.
