WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque
District, has previously completed a report entitled "Flood Plain
Information, Rio' Grande, Monte vista, Colorado," dated June,
1969, which contains, the existing floodplain information on a
portion of the, Rio Grande; and

WHEREAS, the Colorado water Conservation Board, as' requested
by the Monte Vista City Council, by Resolution Number 7, adopted
January 14; 1970, approved <ind designated the floodplain
described in said report; and

i WHEREAS, a new report entit:led "Flood Insurance Study, City
I of Monte Vista, Rio Grande County, Colorado," dated March 30,
1982, has been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., under
