WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District.
completed in June, 1972, floodplain information report entitled
"Lower St. Vra in Creek, Volume I I I, Boulder County, Colorado";
and

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation
by the Board of County Commissioners of
Resolution No. 24, adopted on July ll,
designated the floodplains described in said

Board, as requested

1973, approved and
report; and

WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Floodplain Information
Report, St. Vrain Creek, Boulder County, Colorado," dated
August, 1988, has been prepared and describes and outlines the
"detailed floodplain information" for the storm and floodwater
runoff channels for the study reach; and

WHEREAS, the said new repor~ includes
for St. Vrain Creek (119th street to
Boulder County, Colorado; and

a detailed study reach
East County Line) in

WHEREAS, Boulder County,

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes,
requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the
prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 3l-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes, provide that legislative bodies of local jurisdictions
may provide zoning regulations for land uses on, or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
Board; and
