A limited <br />amount of money is provided periodically <br />which can be used to identify and stabilize <br />a historic property. Washington Ave, <br />Madison, WI 53707 <br /> <br />Contact: Chuck Rabideaux (608) 266-8897 <br /> <br />Federal Agencies <br /> <br />The Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency, Mitigation Division. <br /> <br />FEMA is responsible for coordinating the <br />federal government's response to disasters. <br />FEMA administers disaster relief programs <br />available after a Presidential Disasler Declara- <br />tion as provided through the Stafford Disaster <br />Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (Stafford <br />Act) which provides assistance to individuals, <br />state and local governments and private non- <br />profit organizations. <br /> <br />The Mitigation Division is responsible for <br />local activities related to the NFIP and the <br />Community Rating System (CRS). It coordi- <br />nates the preparation, review and revision of <br />flood insurance study and maps. Staff help <br />communities draft and enforce their floodplain <br />management ordinances.
