<br />FPR 214 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 5, 1983 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hydro-Triad, LTD, has previously completed a report <br />entitled "Floodplain Information, Gore Creek, Vail, Colorado," <br />dated June, 1975, which contains the existing floodplain <br />information on Gore Creek; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the Town of Vail, by resolution adopted January 14, 1976, <br />approved and designated the floodplains described in said.report; <br />and <br /> <br />-.J <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Vail, <br />Colorado," which includes floodplain information and data for <br />Gore Creek and portions of the following' tributaries: Buffehr <br />Creek, Red Sandstone Creek, Middle Creek, West Mill Creek, East <br />Mill Creek, Booth Creek, pitkin Creek, Bighorn Creek, Spraddle <br />Creek, Upper Gore Creek, and Black Gore Creek, dated November 2, <br />1982, has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., under <br />contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Vail has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />128 <br />res/214 <br />
