sect ions surveys wi 11 extend to 100-feet 1 andward of the base
survey 1 ;ne and as far riverward as possible but not more than
100-feet from the base survey line. It is anticipated that a
total of 18 to 20 1 evee cross sections wi 11 he surveyed.
3. All existing imr"ovements, located within the 100-foot width,
at and between cross sections, will be tied to the base line
and defined by words and measurements, by the surveyor,
including soil boring locations, trees, drlp area of the trees
along the levee.
4. All drainage facilities and any other accessible utilities,
along or within the levees, will be located horizontally and
vertically.
5. Base drawings will be plotted at a scale of 1" = 50', showing
the topography of tne existing levee and all improvements
within the project AREA in which construction work is to be
completed. The drawings will be used for final design. The
surveyor will make a visual check of the base map in the field
to observe consistency or discrepancy between the map and the
existing topography and resolve any visual discrepancies before
final designs ar~ completed.
6. The surveyed cross sections will be plotted and the survey
notes will be provided to MEC.

C. Utility Investigations. MEC, with the aid of ENTITIES, shall
gather all available utilit. maps and portray the best-known
utility locations on the plan drawings, prior to designing
facilities in their vicinity. Visible surface evidence of buried
utilities will b. portrayed on the drawings, including existing
water lines, storm and sanitary sewers, gas lines, buried power
lines, cable TV lines. and underground telephone conduits. in areas
of proposed construction, as shown on avallaole plans. MEC shall
contact utility owners whose li~es must be relocated to discuss tne
best possible solution fo" the relocation. ENTITIES will assist
~~C in the coordination with the utility owners.

6.
