<br />RESOLUTION
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, completed three
<br />floodplain information reports entitled "Flood Plain Information, Metropolitan Region,
<br />Denver, Colorado, Volume I Summary Report, South Platte River, Waterton to Brighton,
<br />Colorado", dated October, 1963; "Flood Plain Information, Metropolitan Region, Denver,
<br />Colorado, Volume II Summary Report, Sand, Toll Gate and Lower Cherry Creeks, South
<br />Platte River Basin", dat~d April, 1964; and "Flood Plain Information, Metropolitan Region,
<br />Denver, Colorado, Volume ill Summary Report, Bear and Clear Creeks, South Platte River
<br />Basin", dated January, 1966 for the Inter-County Regional Planning Commission; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the historic significance of these reports can be measured by the fact
<br />that they were the first floodplain information reports prepared for the State of Colorado
<br />that delineated 100-year floodplains for the purpose of regulating land use; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, VTN Consulting Engineers, under contract to the Urban Drainage and
<br />Flood Control District, the City of Englewood, the City of Littleton, the City of Greenwood
<br />Village, Arapahoe County and Douglas County, completed a floodplain information report
<br />entitled "Major Drainageway Master Plan, Big Dry Creek, Volumes I and II" in June 1975;
<br />and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, CH2M Hill, Inc., under contract to the Urban Drainage and Flood
<br />Control District, Jefferson County and Arapahoe County, completed a floodplain
<br />information report entitled "Major Drainageway Planning, Volume51 & 2, SJ.C.D. (North)-
<br />Basin 6100, North Tributary to S.J.C.D. (South) - Basin 6200, Direct Flow Basin 6100.5,
<br />Downstream Reach (Kiewit Area) of Main Branch S.J.C.D. (South) - Basin 6200" in July
<br />1976; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Ketchum, Konkel, Barrett, Nickel, Austin, Inc., under contract to the
<br />Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, the City of Littleton and Arapahoe County,
<br />completed a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Hazard Area Delineation, Lee
<br />Gulch and Little Creek, City of Littleton and Arapahoe County, Colorado" in July 1977; and
