<br />1 . 4 Report Or.~rani:!:ation <br />The report is subdivided into seven sections and two <br />appendices. A brief description vf each Iilect:ion is presented <br />below: <br /> <br />Section;J.) h: the introduction. <br /> <br />Section (2) contains the requested hydraulic products. <br />This section cons:lsts of the primary hydraulic products <br />requested in the Plisn-of-Work (Appendix B). It also contains <br />rating curves, travel times and the relltionships between <br />flooding at StE,rlil19' and at Crook. <br /> <br />section (:l) details flood warning concepts. The method <br />by which flood warni.ng time was defined, a,~. WEIll as the use of <br />the flood warnings" are discussed in this section. <br /> <br />Section f 4) dE' scribes the flood detect ion equipment. <br />section describes the nuts and bolts of installing staff <br />or building an automated flood detection gage. <br /> <br />This <br />gages <br /> <br />Section (!i) de~lcribes the operation (If the flood warning <br />system. Whether ~,ta.ff gages and observel~~, or an automated <br />flood detection gage are used, their fun':ticm must be fully <br />integrated into the communities flood resp9nse plan and their <br />use must be fully ~mderstood. This section 'provides details on <br />the operational USE~ of flood warning gages, and suggestions on <br />how to respond. to the information they provide. <br /> <br />Section ,;6) d,ascribes the long.-term Dlaintenance required <br />to keep the system operational. Maintenclnce and testing are <br />required for both the automated and manual components of any <br />flood warning syst:e:lD. Details on how to servIce the equipment <br />and conduct routinE' drills are contained in thIs section. <br /> <br />Section (7) contains the recommendations of the Omaha <br />District on the configuration and operation of the flood <br />warning system. <br /> <br />Appendix }" cont.ains a discussion of the methodology used <br />in the hydroJ.e.gic and hydraulic analyses '"bnducted to develop <br />this report. <br /> <br />Appendix n c0l11:ains the corresponden':e that defined the <br />scope of work for this report. <br /> <br />1,5 Flood Warning Gage Locations <br />Two flood warning gage locations for the town of Crook <br />are proposed. The upstream gage location i~ on the left bank <br />about 130 feet downstream of the Highway 6 .Bridge at Sterling <br />in the SWl/4NEl/4" Sec. 33, TaN, Rs2W in Logan County, <br />Colorado. The downstream gage will be a reference staff gage <br />located on the downstream side of tl':a High,lay 55 bridge, South <br />of Crook, in the HW1/4SW1/4, Sec. 14, TlON, R49W, in Logan <br /> <br />2 <br />
