FPR 201./ ) COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 August 16, 1982 RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, a report entitled ,"Flood Insurance Study, Town of Lyons, Colorado; Boulder County," which includes floodplain information and data for North Saint Vrain Creek, South Saint Vrain Creek, and Saint Vrain Creek, dated February, 1980, has been prepared by Howard, Needle s, ,Tammen ,& Bergepdof f under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration ,and' ~ WHEREAS, said report describes arid outlines the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of the study area; and WHEREAS, the Town of Lyons has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as "iet forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages there from ,and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23~301 and 30~2B~111, Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative- bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin' only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions, and WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report;
