<br />FPR 201./ <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled ,"Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Lyons, Colorado; Boulder County," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for North Saint Vrain Creek, South Saint <br />Vrain Creek, and Saint Vrain Creek, dated February, 1980, has <br />been prepared by Howard, Needle s, ,Tammen ,& Bergepdof f under <br />contract with the Federal Insurance Administration ,and' <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes arid outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Lyons has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as "iet forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages there from ,and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23~301 and 30~2B~111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative- bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin' only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br />
