I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

MeIllOrandum to Mr. Ioannides
April 28, 1986
page 8

OTHER DAMS

3rd Avenue Dam, Zuni Power plant Dam, and Confluence Park.

These three remaining dams are at a much larger scale (6'-8' drop) than the
Brown Ditch wier drops. Each has a concrete boat chute installed. Zuni
and 3rd Avenue have a long single, sloping drop and the Confluence Park
chute has a series of many small drops and small pools.

The Confluence Park chute is more appealing to the beginning boater than
the single large drops of the other two. All have good warning signs and
take-out landings, but no put-in landings. Due to their size, physical
constraints, and construction, it would not be appropriate to compare them
to the proposed Brown Ditch wier chutes.
