It consists of two
drops and two pools constructed of large grouted rock. Two large
signal rocks are located at the chute entrance.

Analysis

1. Navigability. The chute is easy to locate from a boat upstream
due to large signal rocks at either side of the chute entrance.
Due to the total drop being divided into two smaller drops and
pools, the chute is not very turbulent and may be navigated by the
typical intermediate boaters. The large grouted rocks form smooth
diagonal waves and standing waves as opposed to "crashing" waves
and "keeper" holes.

3.

Rescue Co~tibility.
pool and e ies at the
from the bikepath.

Cost and Ease of Construction.
Company dam, i.e. concrete cap
placement of grouted rock.

Rescue is relatively easy due to the large
bottom of the drop and the easy bank access

2.

Similar to the Gates Rubber
on existing sheet piling, and

4. Appearance. Similar to drop at Gates Rubber Company. The dam,
other than the chute is exposed sheet piling.

5.

~ration and Maintenance. The chute is wide enough (20'~)
e ris collects in it.

so no

6. Stability. The chute is stable, the large grouted rock is an-
chored together as a large mass.

Other

Fish migration is easy. Adequate warning signals and trails have been
installed.

This chute has been observed at high water levels and functions well.
